About the role

This position involves providing perioperative care within an acute care setting, supporting various surgical specialties including general, orthopedics, plastics, ENT, urology, pain management, obstetrics and gynecology, and laparoscopic procedures.

The role requires adaptability to floating between units, with day shifts scheduled from 6:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Responsibilities

The unit has four main operating rooms, one cysto room, one obstetrics (OB) room, two endoscopy suites, and 15 beds in the same-day surgery (SDS) unit.

Nurse to patient ratios are 1:1 in PACU, 1:1 in OR (scrub and circulator), and 1:2-3 in SDS.

The position may require call coverage approximately once per week and one weekend per month, with holiday call possible.

Requirements

  • Wyoming state or compact nursing license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • 2 years of operating room (OR) experience in a surgical setting
  • Proficiency with equipment such as Alaris Med pumps, Hillrom call system, Pyxis medication system, holmium CO2, and YAG lasers

Preferred Qualifications: Recovery experience specifically in Phase 2 recovery, with documentation on resume.

Qualifications

Float rotation may be required to same-day surgery, operating room, sterile processing, or other departments based on training and experience.

Skills

Proficiency with equipment such as Alaris Med pumps, Hillrom call system, Pyxis medication system, holmium CO2, and YAG lasers, and Cerner charting system.

Pay

Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.

The orientation includes a two-day hospital overview followed by 2-3 days with a unit preceptor.
