Travel Oncology RN - $2,638 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking an Oncology RN for a travel nursing opportunity in Saratoga Springs, New York. This 13-week assignment involves 40 hours per week on 8-hour day shifts. The right candidate should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate treatment plans
• Provide patient education and treatment tracking
• Be a reliable source of comfort and support for cancer patients and their families
• Attend to a great number of details while working under pressure
• Implement best practice treatment protocols in a variety of settings
• Administer chemotherapy and implement new methods of symptom treatment under physician direction
• Monitor patients' progress
• Educate cancer patients about treatment options and procedures

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• ACLS, BLS, CHEMO certifications
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Willingness to work with potential hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
