About the role
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment at an outpatient therapy clinic in Pittsfield, Maine. The role involves treating outpatient orthopedic and neuro cases, including strokes, TBI, shoulder injuries/surgeries, pain, deconditioning, hand and elbow injuries, tendonitis, and wrist fractures.
- Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with some flexibility in start/end times
- 40 hours per week, no weekend rotation, call, or holiday coverage required
- No floating required
- Department includes 3 PTs, 3 OTs, and 1 COTA
- EMR: Cerner Millennium
- Minimum 2 days of orientation provided with preceptor support
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be approved
- Dress code: business casual (no jeans except Fridays), closed-toed shoes required, no graphic t-shirts, professional scrubs without graphics or logos
- On-site parking available
- Flu vaccination required for clearance to start (medical exemptions only)
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat outpatient patients in an orthopedic and neuro setting
- Utilize modalities such as ultrasound, e-stim, exercise bike and treadmill training, and strength training equipment
Requirements
- Current OT state licensure (compact or Maine license required if applicable)
- BLS certification
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient OT experience (first-time travelers considered with 5+ years of overall experience and outpatient experience)
- Proven competency to evaluate and treat outpatient patients

Pay
Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
