Travel Occupational Therapist - Outpatient - $2,526 per week
About the role
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Alpena, Michigan. This outpatient setting requires OT experience and an active Michigan OT license. The role includes some acute care exposure, with a day shift schedule of 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week. One weekend per month (Saturday) is required, and there are no on-call requirements.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient function through formal and informal testing measures covering skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive status.
- Develop and update goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
- Coordinate treatment plans with physicians and co-sign verbal orders from Occupational Therapist Assistants as needed.
- Devise treatment schedules in coordination with patients, families, and clinical support staff.
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding condition, prognosis, and treatment rationale.
- Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students per regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Prior Occupational Therapy experience required.
- Active BLS certification (AHA) required.
- Active Michigan Occupational Therapist license required, if applicable.
- Skills checklist current within 1 year, pertinent to Occupational Therapy required for consideration.
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required for consideration.
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered.
- No more than 5 days of requested time off during the assignment.
- All scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application; requests made after offer may result in a rescinded offer.

- Shift: Days, 5x8-hour shifts per week (40 hours total)
