American Traveler is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Pendleton, Oregon.

About the Role

This is a 13-week travel assignment in an acute care hospital setting, primarily focused on outpatient orthopedics with a 4x10 Monday–Thursday schedule. The role covers acute inpatient, acute rehab, transitional care, and outpatient services, with orthopedic cases comprising 80–100% of the caseload.

  • Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (Monday–Thursday), with Fridays off
  • No weekend or holiday requirements
  • Approximately 12 patients treated per day
  • Charting systems: MEDITECH (acute care) and ReDoc (outpatient)
  • Department-specific orientation provided (~12 hours)
  • Support staff includes rehab aides; no COTAs on the unit
  • Scrubs required; denim not permitted

Responsibilities

  • Primary focus on outpatient orthopedic therapy, including orthopedic, CVA, MS, and head injury diagnoses
  • Additional coverage across acute inpatient, acute rehab, and transitional care
  • Experience with orthopedics, hands, elbows, and shoulders is essential

Requirements

  • Active Oregon OT license (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of OT experience
  • Current BLS certification (pending certifications not accepted)
  • Experience with orthopedics, hands, elbows, and shoulders
  • 2 professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer/supervisor from the last 3 years (must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Lymphedema training is a plus

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit or affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates placed PRN through outside firms will be considered.
