About the role
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week Long Term Care assignment in Mound City, MO. This role requires 1+ year of OT experience in an LTC/SNF setting.
- Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility setting
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday
- 8-hour shifts with flexible start times between 6 AM and 10 AM, as coordinated with the Director of Rehabilitation
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- No more than 5 days of requested RTO permitted during the assignment
Responsibilities
- Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develop appropriate plans of care
- Utilize standardized, evidence-based assessments to guide clinical interventions
- Provide rehabilitative treatment including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities/exercises, modalities, and assistive devices
- Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and document per regulatory and clinical requirements
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers
- Communicate with supervisors and interdisciplinary team regarding patient progress and treatment plans
- Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate treatment records
- Obtain necessary DME or supplies as needed for patient care
- Supervise occupational therapy assistants, rehab aides, and/or students as needed
- Participate in required facility meetings, trainings, and in-services
Requirements
- Current OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
- LTC or SNF setting experience required
- Adherence to NBCOT/AOTA and state practice acts and code of ethics
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
