American Traveler is seeking a travel Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Occupational Therapist for an assignment in Humansville, Missouri.

About the Role

This is a 13-week travel assignment in a Long Term Care (LTC) skilled nursing facility setting. The role requires 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience and prior LTC/SNF setting experience.

  • Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts
  • Flexible start time between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, as consistently communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation
  • No weekend or on-call requirements
  • Treats patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders
  • No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) may be requested during the assignment

Responsibilities

  • Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develop appropriate plans of care
  • Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions
  • Administer rehabilitation procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities and exercises, modalities, and assistive devices
  • Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and evaluate treatment outcomes
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Communicate with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans
  • Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate documentation per regulatory requirements
  • Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings
  • Attend facility and company required trainings and in-services
  • Obtain necessary DME or supplies as needed for patient care
  • Supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students
  • Adhere to NBCOT/AOTA and state-required practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics

Requirements

  • Current OT license required, if applicable
  • Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience
  • LTC or Rehab setting experience required
  • Compact license accepted for Missouri
  • 1 professional reference required for consideration

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week
  • 8-hour day shifts
  • Start Date: September 21, 2026
  • Duration: 13 weeks
