About the role

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an inpatient rehabilitation unit in an acute care hospital setting. The position is located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic interventions to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Assess patient needs and modify treatment plans accordingly.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes using Cerner/MedConnect EMR system.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Active Maryland (MD) OT license required and must be in hand at time of consideration.
  • Minimum 3 years of occupational therapy experience required.
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment required.
  • Acute inpatient rehabilitation experience required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Licenses required if applicable.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Must have completed an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have a valid Maryland OT license.

Skills

  • Strong clinical skills in occupational therapy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Cerner/MedConnect EMR system.

Pay

The pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

Shift: Days, 5x8 hours, typically 7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. Tuesday–Saturday schedule preferred; Monday–Friday candidates considered if willing to work Saturday once or twice per month with a flex weekday off.

Additional Information

  • Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required.
  • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required.
  • Any scrub color is acceptable except the nursing blue/white combination.
  • All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront.
