Travel Occupational Therapist Assistant - $800 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist Assistant for a 13-week position in Edgewater, Maryland. The role involves 30 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, and is supervised by an Occupational Therapist. The ideal candidate should have 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT to support treatment plan adjustments.
• Document patient performance and progress accurately and in a timely manner per facility and state guidelines.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients and families on techniques to improve independence in daily activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
• Comply with state licensing rules and adhere to facility and professional standards.

Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• National Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Current State Licensure
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Skills: Ability to lift and assist patients safely, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, solid understanding of anatomy, motor function, and occupational therapy principles.

Pay

The pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 30.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
