About the role
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment at an Acute Care Hospital unit in Florence, South Carolina. This role requires 1+ year of acute care experience and a South Carolina or Multistate Compact OT license.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to an acute inpatient population
- Work a day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM)
- Work weekend shifts approximately 1-2 times per month
- Provide holiday coverage as needed
- Use Epic EMR for charting
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care setting
- Current South Carolina or Multistate Compact Occupational Therapist license required at start of contract
- BLS certification required
- NBCOT certification required
- Prior travel healthcare experience required
- Red scrub top with black scrub pants required
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Previous MUSC permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted, as non-local candidates are prioritized
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application for facility approval
Schedule
- 13-week assignment
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts
- Weekend shifts required approximately 1-2 times per month
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- No on-call requirements

- During hurricane season (June through November), employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
