About the role

American Traveler is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for an Adult Rehab Services unit at an acute care and trauma facility in Oklahoma City, OK.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients in areas including independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, and psychosocial skills
  • Develop treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, including frequency and duration of treatment
  • Design and fabricate adaptive equipment and orthotic devices; provide instruction on joint protection and body mechanics
  • Assist with discharge planning including ordering equipment and instructing patients on home therapy programs
  • Education patients and families on goals and progress
  • May supervise OT students

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
  • Minimum 1 year of occupational therapy experience required
  • Acute care and trauma setting experience required
  • Current Oklahoma OT license required (license required if applicable)
  • Current BLS certification from the AHA required
  • Travel experience preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in organizing and instructing occupational therapy activities
  • Ability to interpret physician referrals and prescriptions related to therapy
  • Basic computer skills required

Qualifications

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position.

Benefits

Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
