Travel Occupational Therapist - $2,760 per week

About the role

As an Occupational Therapist (OT) you will evaluate patients and develop plans of care to help them improve, regain, and develop daily living skills. You will work with disabled, ill, or injured patients in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, ask questions, and observe them performing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan identifying specific goals and activities to help the patient work toward those goals.
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, based on health needs, identify potential improvements.
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on its use.
• Assess and record patient activities and progress for evaluations, billing, and reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist; 6 months may be accepted for exceptional candidates with appropriate background. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Current BLS certification.
• NBCOT‑OTR National Certification and state‑specific licensing.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and to bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.
