Travel Occupational Therapist - $2,537 per week

Travel Acute Care Occupational Therapist – 13‑week contract at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital (inpatient). Start date ASAP (or 10/12/2026). Full‑time 40 hours/week, Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, no weekends, every‑other‑holiday rotation. Travel candidate must reside outside a 50‑mile radius of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for acute‑care inpatients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient condition, functional status, and goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve functional independence and safety.
• Assess activities of daily living and recommend interventions or equipment.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding therapy recommendations, safety, and discharge planning.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, and discharge recommendations accurately in the medical record using EPIC.
• Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and professionalism in a fast‑paced acute‑care environment.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and patient safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapist program.
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient Occupational Therapy experience.
• Active Wisconsin State Occupational Therapist license.
• BLS certification.
• NPI number required (must be obtained before start if not already held).
• ASPIRUS requires AHA or American Red Cross (ARC) certifications.
• EPIC experience required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary hospital environment.
• Hard‑working, resilient, adaptable, and comfortable managing change.

Additional Requirements

• Professional scrubs required (any style acceptable).
• During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times per Aspirus policy.
• On‑call may be assigned for low‑census hours; up to 36 low‑census unbillable hours are eligible, with call‑back pay (minimum 2 hours).
