Travel Occupational Therapist - $2,516 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13‑week assignment in Shelton, Connecticut. The position requires 40 hours per week, 8‑hour day shifts, and is an immediate travel opening. Candidates should have at least 1 year of OT experience (6 months may be considered for exceptional applicants).

Responsibilities

• Review patients' medical history, interview patients, and observe them performing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan with specific goals and activities.
• Assist patients with disabilities in performing various tasks.
• Evaluate home or workplace environments and recommend improvements based on health needs.
• Educate patients' families and employers on accommodation and care.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on its use.
• Assess and record patient activities and progress for evaluations, billing, and reporting.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation per state and insurance guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of OT experience; 1 year preferred (new graduates encouraged to apply).
• Current BLS certification.
• NBCOT‑OTR national certification and valid state‑specific OT license.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and to bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Solid knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.
