Travel Nurse RN - Telemetry - $1,965 per week

About the Role

Telemetry (TELE) Nurse in a MedSurg/Telemetry unit located in an acute care facility specializing in patients with mental health diagnoses. This position involves working 12-hour night shifts, providing bedside care to a diverse patient population, including individuals with behavioral health needs and medical conditions. Prior psychiatric experience is preferred but not required, with a focus on MedSurg/Telemetry skills and safety monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care in a MedSurg/Telemetry unit specializing in patients with mental health diagnoses.
• Maintain sterile techniques, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Monitor and manage confused or cognitively impaired patients.
• Complete SIMs Lab for specific skills, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (pass/fail criteria).
• Work within a unit emphasizing safety and patient monitoring, supported by a video-monitored safety system and 24/7 pharmacological support team.

Requirements

• Valid RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in MedSurg/Telemetry and psychiatric settings.
• Willing to wait for license submission.
• Experience with Cerner EMR system.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with psychiatric or behavioral health care.
• Proficiency in sterile procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Knowledge of managing confused or cognitively impaired patients.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
• 36 hours per week.
• Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation.
