Required skills and experience

• 2+ years of hospital/specialty experience
• ACLS
• BLS
• Telemetry monitoring
• Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced clinical setting
• NIH required

Preferred skills

• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Knowledge of cardiac medications
• Knowledge of IV drip management, including insulin, heparin, and other cardiac drips

Certifications and licensure

• Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses will not be accepted)

Procedures performed on unit

• IV insertion and management
• Management of lines and drains
• Management of post care of cardiac catheterization, pacemaker placement or revision, and vascular surgery
• Documentation utilizing Meditech charting

Patient experience

• Effective communication with patients
• De-escalation techniques

Dress code

• Scrub color: Navy scrub top and pant; Navy or white scrub jacket
• Nail policy: Clean and healthy
• Hair: Neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors
• Facial hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos: Body art should be covered whenever possible; otherwise addressed individually
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
