Responsibilities
- Managing drips (Heparin, PCA, 3% Sodium/Na)
- Utilizing specialty equipment like chest tubes and Airvo
- Charting via Epic EMR
- Handling heavy neuro trauma, neurosurgery, craniectomy, and orthopedic patients (ratios 1:5–6 on nights)
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience in a hospital setting required, including specific neurology/neurosurgery and orthopedic care experience
- Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least one travel assignment in the previous 12 months; no first-time travelers)
- Required Drip & Technical Skills: Heparin, PCA, 3% Sodium/Na drips, and EKG/strip reading & telemetry
- Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license via Nursys, AHA ACLS, and AHA/ARC BLS required in hand at submission
Compliance & Submission Rules
- Strict no-local policy (>50 miles from facility based on driver's license)
- Employee separation policy applies for past UPH FTE/PRN staff within 12 months
