Travel Nurse RN - Risk Manager - $2,250 per week

About the role

The organization is seeking a registered nurse specializing in Step Down for a night shift position at a healthcare facility in Morgantown, West Virginia. The role involves caring for a diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses on a 29-bed step-down and medicine unit currently under construction, with all beds expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2026. The RN will manage patient care, including titrating drips, utilizing Epic Electronic Medical Record system, and working within a 3:1 or 6:1 patient ratio depending on patient type. Start date: November 2, 2026; duration: 13 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Care for diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses on a 29-bed step-down/medicine unit.
• Manage patient care, including titration of drips (Heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives).
• Utilize Epic Electronic Medical Record system.
• Maintain patient ratios of 3:1 or 6:1 based on patient acuity.
• Float to other units as needed.
• Operate remote Phillips telemetry monitoring equipment.
• Participate in unit-specific orientation.
• Provide care on night shifts with flexibility for weekend and holiday work.
• No call or standby obligations.
• Support charge nurse role assignments; work alongside nurse aides (Clinical Associates) at a 1:10 ratio.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience.
• Located in Morgantown, West Virginia (or willingness to relocate).
