About the role
The Rehabilitation Pavilion at DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is seeking a travel nurse RN to provide rehabilitation care to patients recovering from conditions such as stroke, hip fractures, and pulmonary issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour medical monitoring and care to patients participating in the rehabilitation program.
- Participate in daily rounds with a physiatrist, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and rehab nurses.
- Aid patient recovery using advanced therapy equipment including body weight support systems, treadmills, Dynavision machines, and simulation vehicles.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a compact state.
- At least 2 years of recent experience in rehabilitation nursing, with 18 months considered if recent experience is not available.
- AHA BLS certification or equivalent.
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals, accepting shifts of 36 or 48 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Required: Associate degree in nursing.
- Required: Current AHA BLS certification or equivalent.
- Required: Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a compact state.
