About the role
The inpatient rehabilitation unit in a general hospital setting is seeking a qualified healthcare professional to join their team. The position involves working on a medical-surgical rehabilitation floor, providing patient care in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the recovery and rehabilitation of patients with diverse needs.
The unit is composed of 19 beds with a staffing ratio of approximately 6:1 depending on patient census. Equipment includes mechanical lifts, Sara Steady, Baxter pumps, Kangaroo pumps, and Meditech electronic medical records system. The role requires flexibility, kindness, and thoroughness, with guidelines and policies available for review. Staff are expected to work every other weekend and may participate in on-call rotations.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care on a medical-surgical rehabilitation floor
- Float rotation may be required to other units such as Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), Medical Surgical (Med Surg), and Emergency Room (ER)
Requirements
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Zero years of experience required; at least 1 year of healthcare experience preferred
- Must be located in Rochester, New Hampshire
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with wound care, stroke, and traumatic brain injury (TBI)
Schedule
- Days shift, 12 hours per shift
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- On-call rotations may be required
