Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Rehabilitation for a 13-week assignment in Richmond, Virginia. The position requires 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, and starts immediately.
About the Role
The Rehabilitation Nurse (Rehab RN) provides comprehensive care to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses that require rehabilitative treatment. This role involves completing nursing assessments, preparing patients for surgery, coordinating holistic patient care, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Complete nursing assessment of patients on the unit and documents appropriately into patient records
- Prepare patients for surgery, including educating them about procedures and post-operative care
- Cookbook and provide holistic patient care, including mobility support, rehabilitation exercises, and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Maintain a clean, organized environment and ensure rooms are adequately stocked with necessary supplies and equipment to support rehabilitation care
- Avoidance of patient transport to and from therapy sessions, diagnostic procedures, or other care areas as needed
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments ensuring proper documentation and compliance with safety protocols
- Assist with safe patient transport to and from therapy sessions, diagnostic procedures, or other care areas as needed
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Requirements
- One year of recent experience as a Rehab RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- ACLS certification preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Qualifications
The Rehabilitation Nurse (Rehab RN) requires critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language is required. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills is also required. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend. Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism. Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail. Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.

Pay
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
