Job Description & Requirements

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Rehabilitation for a 13-week assignment in Evansville, Indiana. The start date is August 2, 2026, and the shift is 12 hours, nights.

  • 36 hours per week
  • 13 weeks duration

About the Role

The Rehabilitation Nurse (Rehab RN) provides comprehensive care to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses that require rehabilitative treatment. This role involves completing nursing assessments, preparing patients for surgery, coordinating holistic patient care, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Complete nursing assessment of patients on the unit and documents appropriately into patient records
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including educating them about procedures and post-operative care
  • Cookbook and provide holistic patient care, including mobility support, rehabilitation exercises, and activities of daily living (ADLs), while ensuring adherence to individualized care plans
  • Maintain a clean, organized environment and ensure rooms are adequately stocked with necessary supplies and equipment to support rehabilitation care
  • Monitor and evaluate patients’ responses to therapeutic interventions, documenting progress and communicating any deviations or concerns to the interdisciplinary team
  • Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments ensuring proper documentation and compliance with safety protocols
  • Avoidance of patient transport to and from therapy sessions, diagnostic procedures, or other care areas as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Requirements

  • One year of recent experience as a Rehab RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • NIHSS certification preferred

  • Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
