About the role
Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN Preoperative for a travel nursing job in Ithaca, New York.
Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative care for patients in the outpatient surgery and day surgery environment.
- Manage patient safety and comfort in both preoperative and post-anesthesia care units.
- Participate in call requirements, including approximately 3–4 weeknight on-call shifts and one 24-hour weekend on-call shift within an 8-week period.
- Weeknight call hours: 9 PM – 7 AM; weekend call hours: 7 AM – 7 AM.
Schedule
- Shift options: 6 AM – 6:30 PM, 7 AM – 7:30 PM, 8 AM – 8:30 PM, 9 AM – 9:30 PM.
- 12-hour shifts, days.
- 36 hours per week.
- Duration: 13 weeks.
- Start date: October 19, 2026.

The position is located in a community hospital with 7 operating rooms serving a variety of specialties, including:
- Neurosurgery
- Plastic Surgery
- Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT)
- Breast Surgery
- General Surgery
- Gynecology (GYN)
- Urology
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Endoscopy
Requirements
- Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required.
- Valid nursing license with verification through Nursys or other state boards.
