Travel Nurse RN - PreOp / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $3,101 per week

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Post/Pre-Op RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Palo Alto, California. As a member of our team, you'll provide specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Requirements

• One year of recent experience as a Pre/Post-Op RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
• ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC) and PALS (AHA/ARC) certification preferred

• Preferred certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Essential Work Functions

• Assess patients pre-operatively, including reviewing medical history, performing physical examinations, and identifying potential risks
• Prepare patients for surgery, including educating them about procedures and post-operative care
• Receive and conduct comprehensive assessments of patients transferring from the operating room and assess their post-anesthesia condition
• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of patients in the perioperative setting
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and recovery progress in medical records
• Develop and deliver individualized patient and family education plans, including detailed discharge instructions and recovery guidelines
• Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive pre and post-operative care
• Participate in patient handoff communications to ensure continuity of care between units and departments
• Operate and monitor pre and post op-specific equipment, such as ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
