About the role
This position involves working with children aged 5 to 12 experiencing serious emotional and behavioral challenges. The role requires highly experienced psychiatric nursing skills and the ability to provide acute crisis stabilization, assessment, and treatment within a multidisciplinary team setting.
Schedule
- Nights, 12-hour shifts
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Provide acute crisis stabilization, assessment, and treatment for pediatric patients with serious emotional and behavioral challenges
- Work within a multidisciplinary team setting
- Float to other units as needed
- Take charge shifts
Requirements
- 5 years of nursing experience
- Recent pediatric psychiatric or behavioral health experience within the last 3 months
- Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Candidates’ address must be included in the submission packet
- Recent psych skills checklist
- Supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment
Qualifications
- Experience working with children ages 5 to 12 with emotional and behavioral challenges (preferred)
- Familiarity with crisis stabilization and assessment (preferred)
Additional Information
- Candidates living within 35 miles of the facility will be subject to a rate decrease
- RTO blackout dates: 08/31-09/04, 09/08-09/11, 09/26-09/30, 12/23-12/27, and 12/31-01/01
- Recent pediatric psychiatric experience in the last 3 months is required to be considered
