About the role
Travel RN for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - also known as step-down, cardiac, neuro, or surgical stepdown units.
Responsibilities
- Provide bedside care
- Stabilize critical cardiac patients
- Perform dressings
- Insert catheters
- Start IVs
- Administer medications
- Monitor and interpret electronic displays
- Respond to adverse symptoms
- Utilize monitoring equipment to detect changes and intervene promptly
- Maintain physical stamina for long periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting, including patients up to 50 pounds
Qualifications & Skills
- 1-2 years recent acute care experience
- BLS certification
- NIH certifications
- Ability to handle stress
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Physical capability to lift and move patients
- Additional certifications may be required
Key Duties
- Monitor vital signs
- Titrate medications
- Manage specialized equipment
- Provide comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced environment
- Focus on patient safety and effective assessment
