Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,649 per week

About the role

Travel nurse RN position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at the Cardiovascular Care Unit in Kansas City, Kansas. Start date: December 14, 2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Schedule: 48 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts. Employment type: Travel, with a preference for 48‑hour guarantees. The unit is a 28‑bed Cardiovascular Care Unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic med‑tele procedures on the unit.
• Provide care for acute cardiac patients (cath lab, ablations, closures, stents, pacers) and stroke patients, as well as PCU overflow.
• Maintain safety and quality standards, including documentation compliance for central lines, foleys, C‑diff and other HAIs.
• Participate in Nurse Leader Rounds (pre‑ and post‑round) focusing on Nurse Explain and Nurse Courtesy & Respect (2X2).
• Monitor white boards, room tidiness, and safety/quality measures.
• Float to similar units (Ortho, Neuro, CCU, CDU, SSU, Obs, Rehab) as needed.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• Current ACLS, BLS, Basic Dys, and NIH certifications.
• Positive attitude and team‑oriented mindset.
• Cardiac experience is a plus (advanced skill).

Skills

• Proficiency with EKG, bladder scanner, sit‑to‑stand, Hoyer lift, hover mat, Alaris pumps, Pyxis.
• Experience with Meditech EBCD documentation system.

Schedule

• 48 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts.
• Work at least every 3rd weekend.
• Minimum of 3 shifts per week.
• Preference for 48‑hour guarantees.
