Job Details
- Start Date: 08/17/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours: 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts
- Shift: Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 AM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) available
- Every other weekend requirement including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Typically 2-3 holidays required for winter, otherwise every other holiday
- No on-call or standby requirement
- Self-scheduling with manager to balance, opens 6 weeks in advance
- 28-bed Progressive Care Unit with a neuro focus
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6 dependent on acuity
- Nurse aide support available: Days 1:9, Nights 1:12
- Common diagnoses include strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barré, Myasthenia Gravis, spinal injuries, thrombectomies, TNK/TPA 24 hours post, neuro specialties, AMS, dementia, trauma ortho injuries, hematomas and bleeds, falls on blood thinners, and farm/MVA accidents
- Central telemetry monitor located in a different area
- Floating required to sister MS units across 6 different specialties including mixed care, cardiac, general, MS ortho, and heme/onc
- Any solid color scrubs required
- Orientation consists of 1 shift of general orientation and 1 shift with a preceptor
- Charting system: Cerner
Requirements
- Must have 2 years of MS, PCU, or ICU experience with experience in setting within the last 1 year
- Must have drip experience; required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, 3%, and Insulin
- Tracheostomy and ventilator experience highly preferred; willing to train on vents but RN must be open to learning
- RT equipment includes vents, trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and EtCO2
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
- Open to first-time travelers
