Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,508 per week
About the role
MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Mesa, Arizona. This role involves caring for patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment in a PCU/Step-down setting.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients who aren't unstable enough to need ICU care.
- Utilize computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs and detect any changes, enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.
- Administer complex medications that may require titration based on patient vital signs.
PCU nurses are also referred to as step-down nurses, and the PCU is known as cardiac step-down, medical step-down, neuro step-down, surgical step-down, and ER holding.
Requirements
- Active RN License.
- Degree from an accredited nursing program.
- BLS and ACLS Certifications.
- Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care PCU/Step-down setting.
- Additional requirements may be determined by the client facility.
