Unit Details
- Beds: 12 + 4 rooms for ICU (average census is 8 patients)
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: Ratios 1:3-5, ICU 1:3, IMC/PCU 1:3-4, MS 1:5, 2 RN in department at all times. Team nursing with RN and LPN to take a total of 7 patients.
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Pneumonia/Covid, Post OP - knees, hips, falls.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: 1 year of experience, excellent patient care, great documentation. Must have 1 year PCU (MS-Tele experience only not appropriate) or prior ICU experience.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes.
- Common titratable & set rate drips: Amiodarone, Heparin - IMCU. Levo, Cardizem, Dobutamine, pressors - ICU.
Schedule & Floating Requirements
- Floating Requirements: Yes, not required to float - other option is to go home and lose hours. ED for tasking or take hold patients.
- Weekend Requirements: Every 3rd: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- Holiday Requirements: Yes, 2 out of 3 Holidays.
