The role involves providing comprehensive patient care to adult patients with cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and other complex diagnoses. The RN will support a 36-bed unit with an emphasis on patient safety, communication, and teamwork to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Job Details: Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; the candidate must possess an active Nebraska RN license, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience. Education requirements, location specifications, and additional qualifications are verified prior to submission. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step down or telemetry units, competence in arterial lines, and fluency in culturally diverse patient communication. Float: Float to medical-surgical or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) units may be required to accommodate patient acuity levels. Additional Information: Must demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips and managing titratable drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin. Charge nurses will be assigned on each shift, and nurses may participate in patient care duties, including troubleshooting high-flow oxygen equipment. The unit emphasizes patient experience scores, communication about medications, responsiveness, and adaptability to a diverse cultural patient population mainly comprising Hispanic and Somali backgrounds. Scrub color is navy blue; orientation consists of a one-day unit-specific training session. Upfront RTO (Request for Time Off) of 7 days or less per 13-week contract is required; additional RTO requests will not be approved. This role involves adherence to hospital policies, including safety protocols such as overhead lifts, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanners, and hospital communication standards.
