About the role
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care, performing assessments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans. The RN supervises ancillary staff and participates actively in patient education and discharge planning to ensure optimal outcomes.
Schedule
- Nights shift, 12 hours per shift
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized plan of care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide patient teaching in anticipation of discharge
- Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety
- Delegate appropriately and supervise ancillary nursing personnel
- Contribute to a positive team environment and participate in unit activities
- Identify opportunities for professional growth through ongoing education and self-study
- Coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure adequate supplies, equipment, and clinical training as needed
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation
Requirements
- Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only)
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience
- Minimum one (1) year of ICU experience is highly desired
- Located in Rochelle Park, New Jersey
