About the role

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, supervising licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants, and ensuring patient safety. This role involves performing nursing assessments, developing care plans, and promoting patient and staff safety in a dynamic clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and patient/family, and document all assessments and interventions accurately and timely.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission, and support continuity of care through effective communication.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately, and foster a positive team environment.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and clinical training needs.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation, with ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
  • Promote patient and employee safety focused on 10 Foot Circle of Safety and display safety awareness in key areas: Safe Patient Handling, Materials Handling, Infectious Diseases, Slips/Trips and Falls, Work Environment.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) prior to first shift.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
  • At least one (1) year of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience preferred.
  • Valid RN license in the state of New Jersey.

Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts, days
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week
