Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,169 per week

About the role

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) travel nurse position in Rapid City, South Dakota. Start date: December 7, 2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Employment type: travel. Requires 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty; lift up to 20 pounds routinely, with patient moves occasionally requiring up to 50 pounds.
• Possess strong stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds in a fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant acute care experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Schedule

12‑hour rotating shifts, 36 hours per week.
