Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,130 per week
Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit located in Towson, Maryland. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions, including post-operative cardiac surgery, TAVR care, and management of dysrhythmias. The role requires adherence to clinical protocols and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/10/2026 for an 8-week contract.
Required Qualifications
- Maryland RN license
- ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS certifications
- Experience managing cardiac telemetry, drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, Lasix, and hypertonic sodium
- Proficiency with chest tube management, I&O, Foley care, and mobility using cardiac walkers
- Experience with IV pumps, telemonitoring, pulse oximetry, VS machine, SCDs, bed/chair alarms, pericardial drains, external cardiac pacemakers for epicardial wires, and post-cardiac angiogram procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous charge nurse experience
- Two years of healthcare experience
- Community hospital experience
- Experience with charting in Epic or similar systems
Additional Information
- The role involves working with a patient census of 16 adult and geriatric patients across 18 beds and rooms
- Support services include IV teams, respiratory, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
- Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope, working independently, and adhering to strict protocols for cardiac and post-surgical care
