About the Role

Step Down Unit Nurse in Prescott, Arizona seeks experienced RNs to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced acute care setting. The role involves managing post-procedural patients, including post-cardiac cath and post-Myocardial Infarction (MI) cases, across MedSurg Tele and Progressive Care Units (PCU). The nurse will work within a float pool covering MedSurg Tele and PCU units across multiple campuses, including inpatient holding areas in Emergency Departments, caring for geriatric, orthopedic, and post-procedural patients with a focus on post-cardiac interventions. Start date: 11/02/2026; duration: 13 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Manage post-procedural patients, including post-cardiac cath and post-MI cases.
• Provide care for geriatric, orthopedic, and post-procedural patients.
• Work in a float pool across MedSurg Tele and PCU units, including inpatient holding areas in the Emergency Department.
• Utilize telemonitoring, CPAP or BiPAP equipment during shifts.
• Coordinate with nurse aids for patient assistance.

Requirements

• Valid RN license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Step Down or equivalent setting.
• Ability to manage titratable drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
• Pass a dysrhythmia examination with at least 80% score within two attempts prior to contract signing.

Skills

• Proficiency with telemonitoring systems.
