Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Overland Park, Kansas. The position offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
- Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
- Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
- Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
- Notifies supervisor or physician of patient's cardiac status and response to interventions
- Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Requirements
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
- Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification (preferred)
- NIHSS Certification (preferred)
Qualifications
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Must be able to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail

Pay
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Shift: 12 hours, nights
