Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $1,997 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Mechanicsville, Virginia. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Perform physical tasks: stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, stoop, lift up to 20 lbs routinely and up to 50 lbs when moving patients.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH certification
• Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment
