Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $1,871 per week

About the role

Fusion Medical Staffing is recruiting a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The position is for 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible, with a 36-hour workweek and 12-hour shifts, night shifts only.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during cardiac-related procedures and examinations
• Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
• Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Requirements

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
• Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification preferred

Qualifications

Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend. Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail. Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.

Skills

Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.

Pay

Based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation), with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
