Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $1,733 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Cartersville, Georgia. The assignment lasts 18 weeks with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. Candidates should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds routinely; patient handling may require lifting up to 50 pounds
• Good stress‑coping skills
• Ability to relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds
