Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $1,727 per week

About the role

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. This position involves caring for patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment in a PCU/Step-down setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients who aren't unstable enough to need ICU care.
• Utilize computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital signs and detect changes, enabling intervention in life-threatening or emergency situations.
• Administer complex medications that may require titration based on patient vital signs.

The PCU nurse is also referred to as a step-down nurse, and the unit may be known as cardiac step-down, medical step-down, neuro step-down, surgical step-down, or ER holding.

Requirements

• Active RN License.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS and ACLS Certifications.
• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care PCU/Step-down setting.
• Additional requirements may be determined by the client facility.

Schedule

• Start Date: 09/09/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12 hours, nights
