TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The role involves caring for patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment but are not unstable enough for ICU care, often referred to as step‑down nursing. The ideal candidate should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients; interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Stand and walk for long periods
