Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $1,452 per week

About the Role

Unit Specifics:

• Number of Beds: 46
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 – 5:1
• Unit staffing: Clinical Nurse Coordinators (charge nurse), RNs, PCTs, Nurse Externs, Unit Clerks (skill mix based on patient census)
• Type of equipment: GE Apex Pro Telemetry box, Hoyer lift, Sara Steady, Baxter IV pumps, iMobile, Alaris PCA IV pump, Welch Allen Vitals machine, Glucometer
• Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Floating policy: May float to 3 South (post-surgical med/surg) or to PCU (to staff tele overflow)
• Patient Experience requirements: At least two years of Progressive care or ICU experience

• Frankfort Regional Medical Center is a 173-bed acute care facility with Magnet® designation for nursing excellence and accreditation by The Joint Commission.
• Located off I-64 in Central Kentucky, approximately 50 miles from Louisville and 30 miles from Lexington.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry monitoring
• Paracentesis (physician led)
• BiPap management
• Therapeutic phlebotomy
• CPap and BiPap management
• Port access
• Telemetry and EKG interpretation
• Post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention care
• Management and titration of Cardiac and anti-arrhythmic IV infusions
• Preferred experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, and blood transfusions

Requirements

• Active nursing license in good standing (with compact if indicated)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Current NIH certification (must be certified annually)
• At least two years of Progressive care or ICU experience
• Dress Code: Navy blue or gray scrubs (no T-shirts, fleece jackets, or sweatshirts; scrub jackets or long sleeve shirts under scrub top may be any color or pattern; no royal blue scrubs permitted)
