TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a PACU – Post Anesthesia Care position in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Specialty: PACU – Post Anesthesia Care. Discipline: RN. Start date: 10/19/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Schedule: 8‑hour day shifts, 40 hours per week. As a PACU RN you will observe and care for post‑operative patients recovering from surgical anesthesia, develop individualized care plans, monitor critical patients, determine readiness for transfer to a room, and handle a broad range of patients from pediatrics to adults. The role requires standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 20 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds when moving patients), and strong stress‑coping and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide observation and care for post‑op patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Develop individualized care plans based on each patient’s condition.
• Monitor critical patients for condition changes and report to physicians.
• Determine when patients are recovered and ready to move to a room.
• Handle a broad range of patients from pediatrics to adults.
• Stand, walk, bend, lean, and stoop for extended periods; lift up to 20 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs when moving patients).
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications.
• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience (minimum 2 years preferred).
