Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $2,455 per week

About the Role

Travel nursing assignment in Artesia, New Mexico for a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse. This role involves providing preoperative and postoperative nursing care in an acute care setting, focusing on patient recovery and stabilization following procedures in orthopedics, gynecology, urology, pain management, podiatry, and general surgery.

Schedule

• Day shifts, 8 hours per shift
• Minimum of 40 hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks, starting 08/24/2026

Responsibilities

• Rotate between Preoperative, PACU phases 1 and 2, and discharge
• Interpret telemetry strips without technician assistance
• Occasionally float to floor, Preoperative, or PACU units if census is low
• Complete unit-specific modules (approximately 20 hours, with up to 6 hours billed for module work)

Requirements

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Orthopedic experience (required)
• Endoscopy experience (preferred)
• Licensed to practice in New Mexico
• Experience with electronic medical records system CPSI (preferred)

Unit Details

• 4 beds in Preoperative, 6 beds in PACU
• Patient ratios: 1:1 in Preop, 1:1 to 2:1 in PACU
• Charge nurse typically has a patient assignment
• PACU clerk assists with transports and administrative tasks
• Equipment overseen by anesthesia providers
• No ICU recoveries in the facility
