PACU Registered Nurse (RN) Post Anesthesia Care Unit. This position involves providing specialized care in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit, supporting adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations following surgery or procedures. The role demands a highly skilled RN with experience in various surgical disciplines and the ability to adapt to rotating shifts. Candidate will work in a facility with 34 beds, caring for 30 to 40 patients daily; nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 RN to 2 patients; care involves patients recovering from general surgery, thoracic surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, orthopedics, urology, and gynecology procedures. Responsibilities
- Provide specialized post-anesthesia care for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients.
- Monitor patients recovering from general, thoracic, plastic, vascular, orthopedic, urology, and gynecology surgeries.
- Manage a patient load of 30‑40 patients daily in a 34‑bed facility with a 1:2 nurse‑to‑patient ratio.
- Adapt to rotating day and evening shifts (primarily evenings, occasional days; no night shifts).
Requirements
- Valid RN license.
- AHA ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a PACU RN.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records.
- Applicable professional licenses and certifications.
