Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $2,200 per week

Job Summary

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves independent peri-anesthetic management of a complex and diverse surgical patient population. The assigned shifts are during the day, with a schedule of 10-hour shifts from Monday through Friday, starting between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The position requires critical care experience, proficiency with advanced equipment, and the ability to establish trusting relationships with patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Manage a surgical patient census of approximately 55 patients daily across a variety of specialties including transplant, orthopedic, neurosurgery, and more.
• Perform independent peri-anesthetic management of a complex and diverse surgical patient population.
• Establish trusting relationships with patients and their families.
• Participate in on-call shifts during weekends and floating as needed.
• Complete 50 hours of orientation.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty.
• Experience working pre/post operatively with varied surgical patient populations.
• Critical care background required.
• Epic experience.
• Must pass Telemetry exam prior to first shift (strict pass/fail testing, with two attempts allowed).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with adult patients.
• Experience in a Level I trauma center.
• Familiarity with the following skills: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, Airway assessment, Arterial line management, Central line care, and more.

Schedule

• Shift: Days, 10 hours per shift, Monday through Friday.
• Start time ranging between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 40.
