Job Summary
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse in the specialty of PACU, located at the healthcare organization. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and diagnostic procedures. The RN will monitor patients during the immediate post-anesthesia period, manage pain and nausea, identify complications, and ensure patient stability before transfer or discharge.
Job Details
- Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, current BLS certification, ACLS certification typically required.
- Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred by many employers.
- Experience: PACU, ICU, critical-care, ED, or perioperative nursing experience may be preferred depending on the facility.
- Skills: Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and emergency-response skills. No minimum years of experience required.
