About the Role

Malone Healthcare is seeking a Travel Nurse RN for the Operating Room at WVU Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV. This position involves surgical care, including robotics, pre-op care, and scrubbing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical care, including robotics and IV skills
• Scrub for surgical procedures
• Handle pre-op patient care
• Float to the OR holding area as needed
• Respond to call within 30 minutes (1–2 "second calls" per month, consisting of a 24-hour call day on weekends)
• Work rotating weekend shifts (8-hour shift 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 24-hour call on Sat/Sun)

Requirements

• Active BLS certification (required)
• Surgical care experience, including robotics and strong IV skills (required)
• Must disclose any licensing restrictions at time of submission
• Must provide a copy of unexpired driver’s license to verify compliance with a strict 50-mile radius rule

Facility & Unit Details

• 15 surgical suites averaging 55–70 cases per day
• Procedures include same-day and overnight stays
• Charting System: Sunrise (transitioning to Epic)
• Shift Details: Mids/Day shift 8s or 10s (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
