Job Summary

This role involves providing specialized perioperative patient care in a fast-paced, Level 3 Trauma Center with assorted surgical specialties including trauma, orthopedics, spine, cardiac, vascular, gynecology, robotics, and more. The position requires a dynamic team player adept at managing various surgical cases and supporting the OR team during both scheduled and emergency procedures.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Shifts: 12 hours, days
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

  • BLS certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of OR nursing experience
  • Active RN license
  • Experience circulating in trauma, ortho trauma, spine, cardiac, vascular, gynecology, robotics, general surgery, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain, plastics
  • Flexibility and self-motivation to accommodate case requests
  • Experience with laparoscopic and open belly cases preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • CNOR certification preferred but not required

Support within the Department

Service line clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, OR assistants, unit secretaries, technical engineers.

Technology/Equipment

Typical surgical and OR-specific equipment utilized in a high-volume surgical setting.

Orientation

Department-specific orientation for 2 days.

Scheduling

  • Every 4th weekend rotation
  • Scheduled shifts generally from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Call shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekends

Call Requirement

  • Average of 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Average 45-minute response time
  • Call hours are from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and on weekends as specified

Holiday Schedule

Travelers will work approximately 75% of holidays.

RTO (Request for Time Off)

Requires manager approval.

Pay Package

Based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
